Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was back on FOX Sports 1 last weekend (Sat., July 14, 2018) with its UFC Fight Night 133 mixed martial arts (MMA) event from inside CenturyLink Arena in Boise, Idaho.
That’s where ex-heavyweight kingpin, Junior dos Santos, reestablished his place among the division Top 10 by turning away dangerous international import and longtime Sambo deity Blagoy Ivanov.
The main card averaged 754,000 viewers, which is “normal” according to ratings guru Dave Meltzer. The heavyweight headliner drew the most eyeballs at 840,000, despite the previously-established drawing power of “Super” Sage Northcutt.
14,859 fans (legally) streamed the event online.
The UFC Boise preliminary card pulled 572,000 viewers while the pre- and post-fight shows returned 237,000 and 113,000 viewers, respectively. Not too shabby, considering the competition from both from Major League Baseball on FOX (2,373,000 viewers), NASCAR on NBC Sports Network (2,264,000 viewers) and Boxing on ESPN (518,000 viewers).
