Hide your hand trucks and make sure the insurance is up to date on any busses near Luzhniki Stadium, because Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov are on hand at the 2018 World Cup in Russia to catch the final between France and Croatia.
Both fighters have been sharing social media posts on location in Moscow, making many wonder whether we could see some sort of fight announcement or maybe even another near-brawl like the one leading up to UFC 223 that landed McGregor with felony charges in New York.

First Willl Smith and now @TheNotoriousMMA. Game hasn’t started and it’s already a star studded show. Can’t wait for the game. Who will win France or Croatia? pic.twitter.com/W43rk5PaX0
Khabib has a tv pass if that makes any difference... pic.twitter.com/SJGXlDfZ2p

All that started with an altercation between Nurmagomedov and McGregor pal Artem Lobov that saw the Dagestani fighter slap Lobov in a hotel lobby. A few days later, McGregor and a private jet full of his teammates stormed the Barclays Arena to confront Khabib, smashing up a bus in what UFC president Dana White called “the most despicable moment in UFC history.”
Since then, the resulting New York criminal charges against McGregor have kept the UFC from announcing what many expect will be a McGregor vs. Nurmagomedov fight for the lightweight title sometime late in 2018. Could that announcement be made in Russia, or is this just a warm up promotional stunt to piggy back off World Cup hype and put Conor and Khabib back into the minds of everyone tuning in to watch the event?
Or maybe both men are just big fans interested in catching the game?
While McGregor and Nurmagomedov may not be friends, it does seem like they’ll be cheering on the same team. Both fighters have declared their loyalty to France on account of star Paul Pogba, who is a big fan of Conor and Khabib too.
