Welterweights Randy Brown and Niko Price squared off tonight (Saturday, July 14, 2018) from inside the CenturyLink Arena in Boise, Idaho, live and free on Fox Sports 1. It would feature the strangest knockout of the card by far, and one of the most unusual in UFC history.
Randy Brown landed an inside low kick early. Both men’s shoulders look as though they are permanently shrugging. Brown attempted a combination that just whiffed. Brown threw a right hand that fell short; Price threw a left hook into a low kick. They clinched, and after exchanging knees Price drove Brown to the cage, got spun around, then managed to drive through and slam Brown to the canvas. He tried to deal with Brown’s lanky legs looking for submissions. In full guard he looked for short punches. Brown opened his guard and got to his feet. He reached for Price, clinched with him and clambered on Price’s back like a monkey. Price flipped forward and slammed him, but Brown remained on his back with the body triangle locked in. Price managed to spin into Brown’s guard. Brown tried to stand and Price landed several good punches on the way up. Brown landed a big knee and then an uppercut! Price grabbed a single-leg and held on as the round ended.
Price started the second round by stepping in with an uppercut and went for a single-leg, but flopped to his back to avoid a front choke. Brown stood above him, kicking his legs, then dove in with a big right hand. He was landing telling blows, but out of nowhere Price landed hammerfists from the bottom that somehow put Randy Brown all the way out! He did a celebratory cartwheel. That was legitimately the weirdest knockout I think I’ve ever seen on the ground. Price had Brown unconscious on his legs from five hammerfists, and when he got up Brown slumped to the ground completely out.
No way. Hammerfists from the bottom. If you were playing the UFC video game and you got knocked out this way you’d throw down your controller and storm out of the room and YOU’D BE JUSTIFIED IN DOING SO. pic.twitter.com/B9Lz67NQai

“We’re the future, baby. Futures MMA, taking over. I can get you from anywhere.” He was amped up, shouting for anyone, “top fifteen, top ten, five days notice, I’m not going anywhere.”
Official result: Niko Price def. Randy Brown via KO (hammerfists) at 1:09 of Round 2
