I think it’s safe to say that most men are unprepared to get kissed by another man, which would explain my lifetime ban from the annual Maniac Meat-Up, so I can understand why Robert Whittaker is apprehensive heading into his UFC 225 pay-per-view (PPV) title fight.
Sure, losing sucks, but losing to middleweight bruiser Yoel Romero may also result in a goodnight kiss, as Luke Rockhold learned after getting creamed by “Soldier of God” in the UFC 221 main event back in February.
“There’s nothing he can throw at me that I can’t handle ... [but] I don’t think you can ever be prepared, mate,” Whittaker told UFC Tonight regarding the Cuban’s lip-lock, the second middleweight smooch in recent years (see the first one here).
Whittaker puts his middleweight title on the line against Romero this Saturday night (June 9, 2018) inside United Center in Chicago, Illinois, a rematch of their five-round decision -- that ended in favor of “The Reaper” — at UFC 213 last July.
