Paige Van Zant’s fiance and undefeated mixed martial arts (MMA) combatant Austin Vanderford will get his shot at earning an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) contract, as he has been booked to face off against Angelo Trevino on Dana White’s Tuesday Night contender Series on July 17, 2018.
ESPN’s Brett Okamoto has the scoop:
The UFC has booked Austin Vanderford (@austinv170mma), who is engaged to flyweight Paige VanZant, a fight on its Dana White Tuesday Night Contender Series on July 17, I'm told. He'll fight Angelo Trevino, a Team Alpha Male prospect.

“AK47’s” recent pleas to land a spot on the upcoming UFC Fight Night 133 fight card on July 14, 2018 in Boise, Idaho fell on deaf ears. As far as the whole “PVZ’s” man deal, those are his words, not mine.
Hey @ufc I’m ready to go!!! Get me on the July 14th card in Idaho!! Undefeated, Natty champ and PVZ’s man. What else are you looking for?! I’m right here!!! Anyone you put in front of me is gonna have a bad day.

Nevertheless, he will get a opportunity to earn his way into the Octagon with a win over Trevino in Las Vegas.
The promotion also recently gave Nick Newell an upcoming slot on the contender series. Furthermore, former NFL star Greg Hardy will also compete on the show for a chance to earn a UFC deal.
