The upcoming Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) event in Russia has just added another fight, as ESPN is reporting that a middleweight clash between veteran C.B. Dollaway and Omari Akhmedov has been added to UFC Fight Night 136 on Sept. 15 from inside Olympic Sports Complex in Moscow.
Dollaway, 34, is coming off a weird bout with Hector Lombard at UFC 222 in which the Cuban powerhouse was disqualified for hitting Dollaway after the bell. Making matters worse is the fact that “Doberman” believes he was permanently damaged during an elevator incident prior to his fight with Francimar Barroso back at UFC 203. The former Ultimate Fighter runner-up will look to put all of that behind him this September and extend his current win streak to three for the first time in eight years.
Akhmedov, 30, is coming off a draw opposite Marvin Vettori back at UFC 219. The Russian native has compiled a 5-3-1 record since his promotional inception back in 2013, capturing victories over notable names like Kyle Noke and Brian Ebersole. Prior to his UFC debut, Akhmedov competed on Russian soil for 12 of his 13 professional fights.
As of now, a heavyweight clash between former UFC title challenger Mark Hunt and world-class submission specialist Aleksei Oleinik is being targeted as the main event.
