Veteran knockout artist Paul Daley revealed this week that he has signed a new deal with Bellator MMA.
The news comes just over a month after Daley expressed his frustration towards Bellator for holding him out for less-than-desirable fight cards. Well, following his loss to former UFC fighter Jon Fitch at Bellator 199 this past May, everything seems to be in good order between “Semtex” and the Viacom-owned promotion.
Daley took to Instagram to announce his new deal with Bellator:
Daley, 35, also took a shot at former GLORY kickboxing standout Joe Schilling after the newly signed striker called “Semtex” out for a welterweight clash. It’s an unlikely pairing considering Schilling is just 2-5 in his professional mixed martial arts (MMA) career, but crazier things have happened.
If Schilling doesn’t get his wish then fight fans can expect Daley to land a big divisional matchup his next time out. The veteran knockout artist has been lobbying for a chance to take out fellow Englishman Michael Page so maybe that’s something that will finally come to fruition, especially with Bellator rolling out a welterweight tournament later this year.
Either way, “Semtex” is here to stay.
