Former UFC lightweight contender Michael Johnson will get another crack at the 145-pound roster when he takes on featherweight staple Andre Fili at UFC Fight Night 135 on Aug. 25 from inside Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska, per an announcement by the promotion earlier today.

Johnson, 32, has lost all three of his recent Octagon appearances, all coming by way of finish against the likes of Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, and Darren Elkins. “Menace” made his move down to featherweight earlier this year but is still on the look out for his first Octagon victory since knocking out Dustin Poirier in 2016.

Fili, 28, is coming off the biggest victory of his career with a split-decision win over Dennis Bermudez at UFC on FOX 27 this past January. The Team Alpha Male standout has quietly compiled a 6-4 record since entering the UFC’s featherweight division back in 2013 and could extend his current win streak to three if he defeats Johnson this August.

UFC Fight Night 135 will be headlined by a lightweight clash between fan favorite Justin Gaethje and rising contender James Vick. Al Iaquinta was originally slated for the main event opposite “Highlight,” but ultimately bailed.
