As expected, Antonina Shevchenko will join her sister Valentina in Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) after capturing a technical knockout victory over Jaymee Nievera on week three of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“We were training so hard for this fight to have this opportunity to sign with the UFC,” Shevchenko said (via MMA Junkie). “I’m glad to get this win. I saw she didn’t want the Thai clinch (in the first round), so in the second round I knew what to do.”
Also putting pen to paper was heavyweight bruiser Te Edwards, who smashed his way into a UFC contract with his 28-second knockout win over Austin Tweedy.
“I’ve got a nasty right hand, and people don’t seem to get their faces out of the way,” Edwards said. “Unless you’ve got good head movement, that’s kind of the result. I don’t intentionally try to finish fights. I’m just heavy-handed. I just throw punches and people seem to go down.”
Hot damn! The MMA Lab's Te Edwards starches Austin Tweedy in 28 seconds! The Arizonan is on a five-fight winning streak and has finished all six of his victories by KO/TKO in 2:30 or less. #DWTNCS pic.twitter.com/N5YHEPayKm
