After getting cut by Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), only to get resigned a few weeks later, Yair Rodriguez was booked to face Zabit Magomedsharipov at the upcoming UFC 228 pay-per-view (PPV) event on Sat., Sept. 8, 2018.

It’s a fight that will see two of the brightest Featherweight rising stars in the world, as Zabit has won 11 straight including his first three UFC bouts. Yair, meanwhile, has only one UFC loss, coming up short against Frankie Edgar at UFC 211 last year.

And since both men have a unique style of striking, fight fans will be in for an all out war, according to “Pantera’s” prediction on the UFC Unfiltered podcast.

“I think he is a pretty well-rounded fighter, you know. I think he is going to be good in any area we go and I think it is going to be a scrap with Zabit. It doesn’t matter if we stand up in boxing, throw down in kicks, grapple, wrestle, it will be an impressive fight. People deserve to see this, they deserve to watch this amazing fight between us because we are both you, talented and it’s going to be a fucking war up there. I’m sure.”

A win for either man will be a huge boost for their career, as Zabit hopes to climb into the top 10 while Yair wants to get back into the rankings mix following his miscommunication issues with UFC.

UFC 228 is tentatively scheduled to go down on Sat., Sept. 8, 2018 in Dallas, Texas, and currently has just one other bout in the works as the promotion is looking to lock down a women’s Strawweight scrap between Jessica Andrade and Karolina Kowalkiewicz.
