Ray Borg has no room to hate Conor McGregor after watching newborn son battle through hospitalization

One of the many people who were impacted by Conor McGregor’s attack on a bus full of fighters a few months ago during UFC 223 media day was Ray Borg (see it), who actually had pieces of glass fly into his eye after “Notorious” hurled a dolly though a window.

As a result, Borg’s fight against Brandon Moreno was cancelled and “The Tazmexican Devil” had to receive medical treatment. Three weeks later, Ray experienced one of the best moments of his life after his wife gave birth to their son Anthony. It’s a life-changing experience that took a turn for the worse immediately, as baby Anthony -- who was born three weeks premature — was diagnosed with hydrocephalus and spend 60 days in the hospital, undergoing multiple surgeries in the process.

Thankfully, Anthony got better overtime and was allowed to go home. After watching his son take on the battle of his life, Ray realized having hate in his heart for someone was pointless, telling MMA Fighting whatever anger he had toward “Notorious” is now gone.

“After having a kid and watching him go through what he had to go through, I learned that there’s not a whole lot of room for hate,” he said. “Everything that happened with me and Conor, I don’t hate the dude no more.”

Interestingly enough, Conor welcomed his own son into the world a year ago, a healthy baby boy named Conor Jr. For Borg, it brings joy to his heart to see a fellow fighter and father be able to enjoy his healthy son.

“I have a certain feeling toward people who have healthy kids. I value that, so it actually makes me really happy that Conor has his boy and shows him off on social media. What we went through, I wouldn’t wish it on anybody, so it’s nice to see people enjoy their kids,” he added.

Furthermore, Borg stated he doesn’t need an apology from Conor to move on. With his son on track to recovery, Borg can focus on fighting and says he is determined to beat up anyone he needs to in order to rack up the wins to get him back to another championship fight.
