Former UFC light heavyweight title challenger Ovince Saint Preux added yet another impressive submission finish to his resume earlier today (Sat., June 23, 2018) at UFC Fight Night 132 live on Fight Pass from inside Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore, when he stopped rising Australian prospect Tyson Pedro via first-round straight armbar.
OSP is back with the weirdness. After getting dropped and nearly choked out standing for a second time, Ovince Saint Preux comes back and cranks a nasty armbar on Tyson Pedro for the tap! #UFCSingapore pic.twitter.com/fI97qj9be8

It wasn’t the Von Flue choke that we’re used to seeing from OSP, but the finish couldn’t have come at a better time. After getting badly hurt by Pedro in the opening moments of the co-main event fight, Saint Preux was able to work his way into top position and threaten with a kimura. Pedro straightened his arm out which allowed OSP to switch up his attack, lock in the armbar, and eventually force the tap.
With this performance, OSP nabs his fifth UFC submission finish. The 35-year-old has lost some important bouts over the past few years, but he has quietly turned into one of the most consistent fighters in a shallow 205-pound division. If Saint Preux can continue to pressure opponents and dictate fights from top position he may be able to work his way back into the title mix.
