Petr Yan made good on his Octagon debut earlier today (Sat., June 23, 2018) at UFC Fight Night 132 live on Fight Pass from inside Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore, when he became the first fighter to finish Japan’s Teruto Ishihara via strikes.
It didn’t take long for the Russian bantamweight to put the pressure on Ishihara and make him wilt. After landing a beautiful spinning elbow that backed Ishihara into the cage, Yan found a home for a perfectly-timed right hand that planted “Yashabo” on his butt. Yan didn’t have to add too many insurance shots before the referee stepped in for the first-round TKO stoppage.

With this performance, Yan enters the 135-pound division in fashion. The 25-year-old prospect has now won nine out of 10 professional bouts and seems ready to take the UFC bantamweight division by storm. Yan will encounter tougher competition as he climbs the divisional ladder, but finishing a tough fighter like Ishihara in his debut is pretty damn impressive.
