Ultimate Fighting Championship’s (UFC) next pay-per-view (PPV) offering will feature one of the most-anticipated title fights in recent memory as Heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic defends his belt against current Light Heavyweight title holder Daniel Cormier.
Miocic currently hold the record for most title defenses in the division with three, and he looks to add to it by taking on one of the best fighters to ever compete inside the Octagon who got his start fighting in the land of the big men.
Indeed, Cormier is no stranger with tussling with the big boys, winning the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix, and starting his UFC career at 265 pounds before dropping down to 205.
Now, “DC” looks to add to his legacy and cement his status as the G.O.A.T by joining Conor McGregor as the only two men to ever hold titles in two divisions at the same time. Miocic, however, isn’t so keen on letting his record-breaking run come to an end.
In the co-main event, Max Holloway will put his Featherweight title on the line against one of the fastest rising stars in the sport in Brian Ortega. “T-City” has amassed an undefeated record thus far, winning 14 in a row, including all seven of his UFC bouts.
