Marcin Held didn’t manage to live up to the hype he developed in Bellator during his 2016/2017 UFC run, but he’s back to his winning ways now that he’s on the independent circuit again.
Held went 1-3 with losses to Diego Sanchez, Joe Lauzon, and Damir Hadzovic before clinching a decision win over Nasrat Haqparast in his final fight. He strung that into a two win streak just hours ago at ACB 88 in Brisbane, Australia in a quick first round heel hook of Callan Potter. Watch the finish here:

Held was unable to come to terms on a new deal with the UFC, but seems to have landed on his feet with the internationally expanding Absolute Championship Berkut. The promotion is known for paying UFC veterans five to six figure purses, and while it is based in Chechnya it isn’t tainted by close associations with leader and human rights abuser Ramzan Kadyrov. So enjoy the above clip knowing it’s free of all that troubling business.
