Francis Ngannou is probably best known for his devastating punching power (sample), which “The Predator” used to flatten fellow UFC heavyweights Alistair Overeem and Andrei Arlovski, among others.
That’s how the Cameroonian was able to set the world record at the UFC Performance Institute in Las Vegas, Nevada. But now UFC 226 opponent Derrick Lewis is erasing a few marks of his own, courtesy of UFC Tonight.
“Black Beast” is the new king of the FOX punching machine, usurping the throne from UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier. While no one has been able to crack the 1k mark (including this guy), Lewis holds power-punching bragging rights.
We’ll see if one of those bombs lands at the UFC 226 pay-per-view (PPV) event. That’s where Lewis (19-5, 1 NC) and Ngannou (11-2) will trade blows for the right to stay afloat in the 265-pound title hunt. The fists start flying on Sat., July 7, 2018 inside ”Sin City’s” T-Mobile Arena.
