UFC 225 highlights

UFC 225, which took place at United Center in Chicago, Ill., this past weekend (Sat., June 9, 2018), saw Robert Whittaker edge out a split decision in a bloody, back-and-forth win over Yoel Romero in their rematch (highlights) despite no title being on the line (“Soldier of God” missed weight).

In the pay-per-view (PPV) co-main event, Colby Covington captured the interim Welterweight title with an impressive performance against former UFC Lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos (highlights), taking home a unanimous decision and earning a future 170-pound unification bout against a very fired up Tyron Woodley.

Holly Holm, Curtis Blaydes and Claudia Gadelha, among others, also all picked up impressive victories. In fact, Blaydes’ bloody destruction of Alistair Overeem (watch it) was borderline criminal. And it appears as though the C.M. Punk experiment inside the Octagon is officially (and mercifully) over thanks to the fists (and shenanigans) of Mike Jackson (highlights).
