Highlights! Watch Jarred Brooks knock himself out against Jose Torres at UFC Utica

Fight fans were treated to a rare finish earlier tonight (Fri., June 1, 2018) at UFC Fight Night 131 from inside Adirondack Bank Center in Utica, N.Y., when flyweight contender Jarred Brooks knocked himself out while slamming Octagon newcomer Jose Torres in the second round, eventually losing via TKO.

It was all Brooks from the early going. The wrestling-based fighter unexpectedly took control on the feet with his hands, including a spinning back fist that dropped “Shorty” in the first round. During a takedown attempt in Round 2, Brooks picked Torres up and went to slam him on the canvas. Torres managed to control himself in the air and position his body so Brooks landed on his own head. Torres peppered a dazed Brooks with a few extra shots before the referee stepped in.

With this performance, Torres cashes in on his highly-anticipated UFC debut and extends his undefeated professional record to 8-0. The future flyweight contender didn’t look completely dominant in this fight, but he put himself in a position to win and that’s really all that matters.
