Chad Mendes returns from two-year suspension to face Myles Jury at UFC ‘Boise’ on July 14

That Frankie Edgar rematch is going to have to wait.

Chad Mendes will make his long-awaited return to action at the upcoming UFC Fight Night 133 mixed martial arts (MMA) event on July 14, 2018, inside CenturyLink Arena in Boise, Idaho, against Myles Jury.

The promotion announced the pairing earlier today.

“Money” has been on the sidelines after hit with a two-year suspension from United States Anti Doping Agency (USADA) in June 2016 stemming from an out-of-competition drug test.

For his part, Mendes has taken responsibility for the failed test, but is ready to start make noise in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Featherweight division. The first challenge for the former 145-pound title contender is a tough draw against Jury who has won two in a row and holds wins over Takanori Gomi and Diego Sanchez.

The former Lightweight contender made the drop down to Featherweight in 2015, but came up short in his debut against Charles Oliveira before racking up two wins in a row.

UFC Fight night 133 will feature a Heavyweight showdown between Junior dos Santos and World Series of Fighting (WSOF) import Blagoy Ivanov. Also, Paul Felder will take on James Vick in an intriguing 155-pound collision.
