Tyron Woodley suggests Kelvin Gastelum is too fat for welterweight rematch

Kelvin Gastelum won The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 17 trophy by upsetting striking sensation Uriah Hall in the finals, then promptly dropped down to 170 pounds to make a run at the welterweight title.

A key loss to then-contender Tyron Woodley derailed those plans, in a fight that was super close (and super boring). So close, in fact, that it had Gastelum contemplating a return to welterweight to set things right.

That would first require him to make the 170-pound mark, which he failed to do against Woodley, and the now-champion had no problem reminding him when Gastelum was making the media rounds last week.

The scale fail sent Gastelum back to middleweight, where he now faces Ronaldo Souza at UFC 224 this weekend in Brazil (details). A win over “Jacare” will no doubt inch him closer to a division title shot and after that ... well, champion vs. champion super fights are all the rage these days.
