Bellator MMA President Scott Coker doesn’t sound too interested in promoting Chuck Liddell vs. Tito Ortiz 3, but that doesn't mean he’s out of the legends business altogether.
In fact, the promotion may be headed to Brazil later this year for yet another showdown between Quinton Jackson and Wanderlei Silva, who competed a handful of times under the PRIDE FC and UFC banners.
“That’s something that we’re talking to ‘Rampage’ about and talking to Wanderlei about,” Coker said (via MMA Fighting). “I would love to make that fight before the end of the year. We are working on the possibility of executing that fight down [in Brazil].”
They last fought at UFC 92 back in late 2008, with “Rampage” scoring a first-round knockout.
A lot has changed between then and now. Jackson (37-13) turns 40 in June while Silva (35-13-1, 1 NC) turns 42 in July. Both are coming off losses to fellow UFC import Chael Sonnen, who now moves on to fight Fedor Emelianenko later this year.
MMA, ladies and germs.
