Bellator 201 fight card: Ryan Couture vs Saad Awad fight set for Temecula

Bellator 201: “Macfarlane vs. Lara” takes at Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, Calif., on June 29, 2018, featuring a main event between undefeated women’s Flyweight champion, Ilima Macfarlane (7-0), against talented Colombian contender, Alejandra Lara (7-1).

Recently, a new bout was confirmed for the Paramount Network-televised portion of the show, according to MMA Fighting: Saad Awad (22-9) will put his three-fight win streak in the Lightweight division on the line against the son of a mixed martial arts (MMA) legend, Ryan Couture (11-5). Couture needs the win much more than Awad at this point. Although he was victorious at Bellator 180 in June 2017, that victory snapped a losing streak where he was knocked out by Patricky Freire and submitted by Goiti Yamauchi. It should also be noted the 35-year-old went to decision with a 44-year-old fighter, Haim Gozali ... not exactly a lights-out winning performance.
