UFC Fight Night 130: “Thompson vs. Till” had its fair share of great fights, but that didn’t stop UFC from making the decision to forgo handing out a “Fight of the Night” bonus in favor of four $50,000 performance bonus payments instead.
As revealed by Dana White at the UFC Liverpool post fight press conference, winners included Tom Breese for his eyeball killing uppercut of Dan Kelly, Claudio Silva for his dominating neck crank on Nordine Taleb, Arnold Allen for his come from behind front choke of Mads Burnell, and Darren Stewart’s ground-and-pound knockout of Eric Spicely. Left out in the cold due to the UFC’s decision to do all finish bonuses rather than a fight of the night was the exciting Makwan Amirkhani vs. Jason Knight fight. Dana White agreed during the post-event press conference it was a hard call to make.
“It always sucks,” he said. “It’s never fun doing the bonuses.”
