UFC Fight Night 130 results: Neil Magny finishes late replacement Craig White in round one

MMA: UFC 207-Hendricks vs Magny Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Veteran welterweight Neil Magny faced off with late replacement Craig “the Thundercat” White today (May 27, 2018) at UFC Fight Night 130 from inside Echo Arena in Liverpool, England, live and free on FOX Sports 1.

Craig White came out kicking Magny in the legs, ducked in looking for a bodylock takedown. Magny defended, and White held him against the cage kneeing his legs and looking for an outside leg trip. Magney reversed positions and nearly got a takedown with a bodylock, but White kept his balance until Magny landed a knee to the cup, causing a separation in the action. When they restarted White went to the clinch again, and Magny reversed again and this time got the takedown. He held top position for a minute, then separated and kicked White’s legs. White stood up, and ran forward with a blitzing combination. He ended up in the clinch and Magny forced his head down and landed a knee that dropped White! He swarmed White with ground and pound, and the referee saw enough! Great win for Neil Magny, who took a high-risk low-reward bout here against an unknown opponent.

Magny congratulated White for taking the fight on short notice and said because White stepped up, he would be making a $15,000 donation to a little girl with a medical condition. He said Kamaru Usman has been calling him out for two years, and it’s time for him to beat that ass, baby! That’s not a bad fight for Usman.

Official result: Neil Magny def. Craig White via technical knockout at 4:32 of round one
