Knockout! Watch Phil Davis stop Linton Vassell via head kick at Bellator 200

Former Bellator MMA light heavyweight champion Phil Davis continued his comeback tour earlier today (Fri., May 25, 2018) at Bellator 200 from inside The SSE Arena in London, England, when he finished veteran Linton Vassell via third-round knockout (head kick).

It was Davis’ first knockout finish since ending Francis Carmont via punches at Bellator 142 back in 2015.

The decisive blow came just over a minute into the third frame when “Mr. Wonderful” caught Vassell sleeping on the feet and blasted him with a huge right kick. The attack came out of nowhere and instantly put Vassell out as he fell to the canvas. A few more short punches capped off Davis’ efforts before the referee stepped in.

Check out the memorable knockout blow above.

With this performance, Davis wins his second fight in a row since losing the 205-pound title to Ryan Bader last year. The 33-year-old remains one of the most skilled fighters on the Bellator roster, but more finishes like this one will propel Davis to new heights in his already accomplished mixed martial arts (MMA) career.
