Breaking: Nick Diaz arrested for alleged domestic violence

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Welterweight title contender Nick Diaz has been arrested for an alleged domestic violence dispute that occurred last Thursday evening (May 24, 2018) in Las Vegas, Nevada, according to MMA Junkie.

Diaz has been charged with felony domestic battery by strangulation, as well as misdemeanor domestic battery for the alleged incident.

The person with knowledge of the case told MMAjunkie that 12 units were dispatched to the scene, the alleged victim was transported to a local hospital and Diaz was combative with officers during his arrest.

Nick is currently being held by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department on an $18,000 bond and will remain in custody until after his court hearing Saturday morning, which is when he will be eligible to post bail.

A rep for Diaz posted this to his Instagram account following the news of his arrest calling the allegations “fake news” coming from a “deranged” individual who has an obsession with the UFC combatant.
