Rose Namajunas: I’ll grant Joanna Jedrzejczyk another title shot — if she publicly admits I’m the best

Hey, remember that scene in Beyond Thunderdome when Master was like, “Tell everyone in Bartertown I’m the boss and I’ll turn your pigshit power on?” Yeah, this is nothing like that, but who doesn’t love a good Mad Max reference?

Anyway, reigning Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 115-pound champion, Rose Namajunas, continues to get asked about the possibility of running it back with ex-strawweight titleholder Joanna Jedrzejczyk.

Sure, “Thug Rose” crushed the power-punching Pole at UFC 217, then turned her away by five-round decision in their UFC 223 rematch, but the pickings are slim in the 115-pound pecking order (see it) and Jedrzejczyk was champion for quite some time.

“Right now, that fight doesn’t really interest me at the moment,” Namajunas told TMZ. “Unless she’s says I’m the best, publicly. Publicly, because I already know she knows. You gotta say it to everybody. She knows I’m the best, but she won’t admit it to everybody.”

Jedrzejczyk (14-2) refused to accept defeat in the wake of UFC 217, blaming anyone and everyone who had something to do with her fight camp. After UFC 223? She criticized the judges and just couldn’t bear to admit that someone in the division had bested her.

She may not have a choice if she wants a third crack at the crown and defeating Tecia Torres at UFC on FOX 30 this July would certainly be s step in the right direction (more on that fight here).
