Not even those “special supplements” could save him.
Heavyweight mixed martial arts (MMA) legend, Mirko Filipovic, has been injured and pulled from this Friday night’s Bellator 200 event on the Paramount Network, scheduled for SSE Arena in London, England.
And with just a couple of days until fight night, opponent Roy Nelson may have no choice but to hit the showers, though Bellator matchmakers are currently scrambling to find a warm body to fill the hole.
It just won’t be in the main event.
“Mirko Cro Cop has suffered an undisclosed injury and has been forced off the card, and we are looking at replacements, though for the time being Carvalho-Mousasi has been moved to the main event and British standout Michael ‘Venom’ Page against American David Rickels has been elevated up to the co-main event fight,” Bellator executive Ryan Grab told The Telegraph.
I guess that puts an end to this, as well.
No word yet from the drug-free “Cro Cop” camp on the nature (or extent) of the injury, but promotion president Scott Coker will certainly have an update at some point later this week — if not sooner — as part of the Bellator 200 press tour.
