Rising light heavyweight prospect Dominick Reyes proved good yet again earlier tonight (Sat., May 19, 2018) at UFC Fight Night 129 from inside Movistar Arena in Santiago, Chile, when he put a stop to hard-hitting veteran Jared Cannonier via first-round TKO.
The finish keeps “Devastator” perfect with a 9-0 professional record.
While both men landed early in this fight, Reyes started to pull away when he found his range. After catching Cannonier with a nasty inside uppercut, Reyes had the former heavyweight on skates and stumbling around the cage. One final shot dropped “Killa Gorilla” and even though he returned to his feet a second later the referee stepped in for the stoppage.

With this performance, Reyes improves his UFC record to 3-0, finishing all of those bouts in the first round. The 28-year-old is certainly one of the bright spots in a division lacking top-level prospects, but the deep end gets a little deeper up the light heavyweight ladder so Reyes will have to improve his skill set every time out.
