John Dodson inks new four-fight deal with UFC

John Dodson

Top Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Bantamweight contender John Dodson will be competing inside the Octagon for the foreseeable future after “The Magician” inked a new four-fight deal with the promotion, according to MMA Fighting.

Dodson didn’t last on the market too long, as he didn’t opt to test the free agent waters once his last deal ran out following his split decision victory over Pedro Munhoz at UFC 222 last March in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Ranked No. 7, Dodson has competed in both the Flyweight and Bantamweight division, competing for the 135-pound strap in two separate occasions, though division king Demetrious Johnson stopped all of “The Magician’s” tricks both times.

While there is no timetable for Dodson’s return, the scrappy 135-pounder could make some noise in the division and inch himself toward another title shot with a few more impressive victories.
