Jon Jones respects his elders, but is willing to fly ‘old’ Chuck Liddell to Albuquerque if he wants to fight after latest callout

Be careful what you wish for.

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell recently announced his intentions to get back into the fight game after more than eight years away from the sport in hopes of taking part in a trilogy fight against bitter rival, Tito Ortiz.

And if Liddell happens to get through Ortiz for the third time and manages to get another “warm up” fight under his belt after that, he has his eyes trained on a showdown against former 205-pound kingpin, Jon Jones.

Not one to sit idle following a callout, “Bones” took to social media to respond to “The Iceman,” saying that while he normally pays respects to his elders he is willing to tango with the 48-year-old combatant as early as this weekend.

Of course, Jones is currently on the sidelines following his latest failed drug test. And if we step away from Fantasy Land for a minute, a sanctioned fight between the two of them wouldn’t come to fruition, seeing as how UFC President Dana White would never let it happen.

And the chances of Jones fighting outside of the Octagon in the foreseeable future are slim to none, unless Oscar de la Hoya opens up his wallet with an offer Jones simply can’t refuse. Nevertheless, Jones isn’t backing down one bit following Chuck’s latest call out and isn’t opposed to adding Liddell to his ever-impressive resume of victims, as the undefeated fighter has defeated everyone in his way, including the current champion on two separate occasions.
