Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) bantamweight contender, Bryan Caraway, was unimpressed with John Lineker’s win over Brian Kelleher at the UFC 224 pay-per-view (PPV) event, which took place last Sat. night (May 12, 2018) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Probably because “Boom” was handpicked by “Hands of Stone” specifically for the purpose of generating yet another highlight-reel knockout. That’s according to Caraway, who perhaps overlooked Kelleher’s win over former division champion Renan Barao, as well as his 15 finishes in 19 wins.
“Wow, John Lineker handpicks his opponent and he wins, yet he’s been running from me for years,” Caraway wrote on social media. I would DESTROY him. I think he even mouthed, ‘I’m too scared!’ It’s sad how many times this guy has said no because he doesn’t want to lose to me.”
Caraway (21-8) is coming off a split-decision loss to Cody Stamann at UFC 222 back in March, snapping a two-fight winning streak in the process. As for Lineker, his Kelleher win marked his second straight and he’s now won eight of his last nine.
These two have been going back-and-forth for a couple of years now and it doesn’t look like they’ll be squaring off anytime soon, simply based on their individual trajectories. And it’s not like mixed martial arts (MMA) fans are demanding it.
