That was fast.
Just a few days after getting reinstated by United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight titleholder, Junior dos Santos, will headline the upcoming UFC Fight Night 133 mixed martial arts (MMA) event on July 14, 2018 inside CenturyLink Arena in Boise, Idaho.
Opposing him in the FOX Sports 1 headliner is World Series of Fighting (WSOF) import Blagoy Ivanov, according to ESPN.com, who makes his Octagon debut in the wake of his one-off with Professional Fighters League (PFL) last November.
Dos Santos (18-5) has not competed since his technical knockout loss to Stipe Miocic at the UFC 211 pay-per-view (PPV) event in May 2011. The 34 year-old “Cigano” has not won back-to-back fights in nearly six years.
Ivanov (16-1, 1 NC), meanwhile, has captured four straight, including a technical knockout win over ex-UFC heavyweight Shawn Jordan roughly one year back. “Baga” is perhaps best known for upsetting Fedor Emelianenko at the 2008 World Sambo Championships.
As well as surviving a knife to the heart.
UFC Fight Night 133 will also feature the women’s bantamweight showdown between Marion Reneau and Cat Zingano, while Liz Carmouche and Jennifer Maia hook ‘em up in women’s flyweight action.
Stay tuned for more “Boise” fight card announcements in the coming days.
