Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Featherweight and Lightweight champion Conor McGregor has finally broken his social media silence following his rampage and subsequent arrest last week in Brooklyn, N.Y., which saw him attack a bus full of UFC fighters in an attempt to get at Khabib Nurmagomedov (video).
Indeed, Conor took to Instagram to give his first public thoughts on the events, though he didn’t have much to say. Check it out:
Indeed, Conor’s actions heavily affected UFC 223 -- which went down last Saturday night (April 7, 2018) inside Barclays Center — forcing the cancellation of two fights due to injuries to Ray Borg and Michael Chiesa. A third fight was also cancelled, as Artem Lobov was yanked from his fight against Alex Caceres for his involvement in the melee.
Conor eventually turned himself into authorities (mug shot here) and was ultimately released on $50,000 bail. He will be due back in court this summer to further answer for his assault charges. As far as his relationship with the promotion, it seems to be “all good” now, which means this statement could become a reality.
Anyone care to break down “Notorious’s” cryptic post?
