All the drama surrounding UFC 223 just got a whole hell of a lot crazier after Conor McGregor and his entourage stormed media day festivities as they were winding down and attacked a bus full of fighters competing at the event.
See the raw footage here.
While confirmation as to what triggered “Notorious” has yet to be confirmed, it’s safe to assume McGregor was likely going after Khabib Nurmagomedov -- who was on the bus — after “The Eagle” had a confrontation with his good friend and training partner, Artem Lobov a few days ago at the host hotel. Lobov was apparently part of the mob and has subsequently been removed from his fight against Alex Caceres this weekend.
Unfortunately, innocent bystanders were injured — Micheal Chiesa apparently suffered a facial laceration during the whole ordeal, while women’s Strawweight champion Rose Namajunas was nearly hit with a flying chair. Naturally, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White wasn’t pleased with the events that transpired, as he led Brett Okamoto believe he will no longer be in the Conor McGregor business ... at least in the near term.
Was just with Dana White. Called it the most despicable thing in UFC history. I asked him if he wants to be in business with Conor McGregor anymore, he said, would you?

Here’s White talking about the attack immediately after it transpired:

This is the most disgusting thing that has ever happen in the history of the company. Police are, there is a warrant out for Conor McGregor’s arrest. They are looking for him right now. His plane can not take off. He can not leave the state of New York with this warrant. I am assuming eventually, if they don’t catch him he will turn himself in. You can imagine he is going to be sued beyond belief and this was a real bad career move for him. I think after this disgusting and despicable move, I think everybody relationship (including mine) with Conor is going to be not so great. This is a bad decision you make that turns a lot of people off and against you.... You want to grab 30 fucking friends, come down here, and do what you did today? It’s disgusting! I don’t think anyone is going to be a huge Conor McGregor fan after this. I don’t know if he’s on drugs, or what his deal is, but to come and act like this ... We’re talking about a guy who has a baby. He just had a kid. This is how you are acting? You have a son at home.”
Of course, this isn’t the first time McGregor has caused a ruckus at a UFC event (examples here and here), but by the sound of it, it could be the last.
