Just when you think UFC 223 fight week can’t get any crazier, a video has surfaced that shows Khabib Nurmagomedov and Artem Lobov involved in a minor confrontation at a hotel just a few days away from the pay-per-view (PPV) event, which is set to go down on Saturday April 7, 2018 in Brooklyn, New York.
In the clip embedded above courtesy of MMAnytt, Khabib and his entourage can be seen confronting “The Russian Hammer” before UFC personnel gets involved, though the root of the beef is not clear at the moment.
Of course, Khabib has not been shy in voicing his displeasure toward Conor McGregor — who happens to be Artem’s close friend and raining partner — and his aspirations to beat him down.
Thankfully, things didn’t get out of hand as it seemed Khabib and Artem were trying to make peace toward the tail-end of the clip. And it’s a good thing, too, as the fight card can’t afford to lose another bout, especially Nurmagomedov who will be facing Max Holloway in the main event for the Lightweight title after Tony Ferguson was bounced from the card with an injury.
As for Artem, he will face Alex Caceres on the preliminary portion of the event. Now, it remains to be seen if things don’t get a bit more tense between the two camps later this week should “Notorious” show up in Brooklyn to support his comrade.
