Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will crown a new lightweight champion — and strip the old one — but it will do so without the services of interim straphanger Tony Ferguson, who was forced to withdraw from the UFC 223 pay-per-view (PPV) main event due to injury.
And “El Cucuy” is not happy about it.
Taking his place on just six days notice is reigning featherweight kingpin Max Holloway, who will try to upset the 155-pound apple cart with a bookie-busting win over top lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov this Saturday night (April 7, 2018) inside Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
In the UFC 223 co-main event, strawweight champion Rose Namajunas will try to prove last November’s win over Joanna Jedrzejczyk was not a fluke in her very first title defense. As expected, all four combatants were featured in the newly-released video trailer and event poster above and below.
It goes down Saturday night.
