Hooker wants to bang with Justin Gaethje, ‘the stupidest guy in the division’

Streaking Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight slugger, Dan Hooker, is coming off first-round knockout win over Jim Miller at the UFC Fight Night 128 event last weekend in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

“The Hangman” is now 3-0 with three finishes after a 3-3 start to his Octagon career, which in his mind, gives him the right to “test” No. 7 ranked Justin Gaethje, who is coming off his second straight loss after going down in flames to Dustin Poirier.

Hooker elaborates to Submission Radio:

“He’s like the stupidest guy in the weight class. He’s wild, he says he’s not gonna develop his game, he’s gonna continue to fight like that. He’s got a couple of fights left in his career if he keeps fighting like that. You can’t stand there with the best guys in the world and fight like that. Like, you’re just gonna get put to sleep. So I just feel like it’s a good time get him now. In a couple of fights his name won’t be worth that much. But if he must insist on it, I’d like to be the one to take him out.”

I guess this guy has been relieved of that title.

After coming up short at UFC Glendale, the previously undefeated Gaethje (18-2) told the combat sports media that he’s only competing for the entertainment factor and not for wins and losses, which is why he estimates to have five fights left in his career.

As for Hooker (16-7) — who also mentioned a potential fight against Paul Felder — he currently remains unranked, but will undoubtedly crack the top 15 with another performance like the one seen in “The Garden State.”
