Midnight Mania! That porn site-hosted MMA event went down tonight ... and it was crazy

Mixed martial arts (MMA) and porn have always had at least a thin layer of separation. No more. Camsoda — a porn streaming site — hosted an MMA event that featured two former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighters, former Heavyweight champion Ricco Rodriguez and former Middleweight Alex Nicholson. Charles Bennett — also known as “Krazy Horse” — was also on the card. And current UFC Welterweight A-hole Colby Covington was in attendance. It was a peak cultural moment for the sport, which has been building to this moment for more than 20 years now.

The fighters weren’t all that bothered by this -- they were just happy to be fighting somewhere where the checks would probably clear. Rodriguez and Bennett, who have about 150 MMA fights between them, explained their viewpoint (via MMAJunkie.com):

“I get a lot of strange requests, so I’m just trying to make sure the checks clear,” Rodriguez said. “I have over 80 fights, and a lot of times I’ve had checks not clear. I figured this one, the check would clear because porn has money. Plus, it’ll probably look good, because if you’re paying a young lady to do something inappropriate on the internet, chances are it’s gonna be in (high definition).”

“How do I feel about it?” Bennett said. “Fighters are getting paid. And I’m trying to get into porn, so I like it. I want to do (expletive) porn when this is over. I would love to be on webcam so they can hit that button and throw a few dollars every time I hit that (expletive) in his head. I want to take this (expletive) down and try to end this fight by slapping him multiple times. Tell the people they can pay me to do that.”

The tipping rules were suitably bizarre ...

Nicholson defeated Rodriguez via tapout to ... something.

Bennett lost to Bruce Lutchmedial, who proceeded to flip him off.

Nothing but civility and politeness from this interviewer.

Bennett threw this abortive punch at Covington, because, of course.

Western civilization can only go downhill from this seminal moment.
