Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women’s bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey, returns to the big screen later this year in the Peter Berg-directed Mile 22, which co-stars Iko Uwais and her Entourage buddy Mark Wahlberg.
Rousey stars as “Sam Snow” and can be seen sneaking around with a scary machine gun because killing people in a hail of bullets is super cool and exciting -- and should be marketed as such — unless it happens in real life, then everyone is all like “OMG WE HAVE A GUN PROBLEM.”
Mile 22 actually started as a vehicle for Rousey, but was overhauled to shift Wahlberg into the lead role. Much like the D.O.A. Road House reboot, there were some questions about “Rowdy’s” acting chops after watching her slug her way through this flick.
That said, Rousey seems to be doing just fine after walking away from mixed martial arts (MMA) to pursue her pro wrestling career (sample). Mile 22 is expected to hit the big screen on Aug. 3, 2018.
