Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson recently picked up their rivalry after “Bones” jumped in and helped bitter rival and current Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight champion, Daniel Cormier, pile it on Alexander Gustafsson.
The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
Now, “The Mauler” has fired back at Jon by digging up some old “Bones,” insinuating once again that the former 205-pound champion was on the “good stuff” when they collided in an epic brawl at UFC 165 back in 2013.
Of course, Jones didn’t sit idle, firing back at the towering Swede in true “Bones” fashion.
Brilliant come back, just what I expected from you. I guess shogun, rampage, Bader etc. could all use the same excuse now too. Do you look yourself in the mirror and call yourself champ now that “I cheated”

Please tell me you convinced yourself that I was on steroids during our fight please tell me you convinced yourself I was ever on steroids
— Jon Bones Jones (@JonnyBones) April 24, 2018
The only “good stuff” I used to send you packing was my big old American balls. Try spending a little more time here, maybe you’ll learn a thing or two

Alright then.
Of course, Jon has failed a couple of drug tests since then, so “The Mauler” is using Jones past transgressions against him at this point. Nevertheless, “Bones” never “intentionally” took a banned substance.
As it stands, there is no clear timetable for Jon’s return to action, while Gustafsson is nearing a comeback after inking a new deal with UFC. Cormier, meanwhile, is putting his 205-pound title on ice in an attempt to make history by defeating heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic at UFC 226.
Should Gustafsson and Jones find themselves back in UFC around the same time, wouldn’t it makes sense to have them run it back for old times sake?
