Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is cooking up a light heavyweight showdown against two of the hardest hitting punchers in the 205-pound division. According to our friends at Kimura.se, brutish power puncher Ilir Latifi will collide with former title contender Glover Teixeira.
A date and location have yet to be revealed.
Latifi (14-5, 1 NC) is coming off back-to-back wins over Tyson Pedro and Ovince Saint Preux, the latter of which ended by way guillotine choke. “The Sledgehammer” is now 5-1 dating back to late 2014 and sits ranked at No. 4 in the division.
Teixeira (27-6) has struggled to remain consistent in recent years, alternating wins and losses after stopping Rashad Evans at UFC on FOX 19. It hasn’t done much to hurt his position in the official rankings, where he stands fast at No. 3.
Nothing is official at this time; however, the way the promotion has been cranking out fight card announcements (like this one), it may be only a matter of days.
