I know Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White is famous for all the things he will “never” do, like “never” let women compete inside the Octagon, or “never” let Jon Jones (or Amanda Nunes) headline another pay-per-view (PPV) event, but I actually see him following through with this one.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me four times?
TUF 22 Finale: Knee injury (Nurmagomedov)
UFC on FOX 19: Bloody lungs (Ferguson)
UFC 209: Too much Tiramisu (Nurmagomedov)
UFC 223: Knee Injury (Ferguson)
“Hell no,” White told ESPN about booking another match up between Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmgomedov after “El Cucuy” got injured. “I’m never making that fight ever again. Ever.”
Let’s hope for Ferguson’s sake that Nurmagomedov loses this weekend.
The odds have “The Eagle” as a massive favorite over late-replacement Max Holloway, who jumps up from featherweight — and a recent leg injury — to headline the UFC 223 event this Saturday night (April 7, 2018) in Brooklyn, New York.
Can “Blessed” make history and turn the division on its head? It wouldn’t be the first time something crazy like that has happened.
