Knockout! Watch Muslim Salikhov end Ricky Rainey in the second round at UFC Glendale

Talented Russian welterweight Muslim Salikhov finally made good on his tremendous potential earlier tonight (Sat., April 14, 2018) at UFC on FOX 29 from inside Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona, when he put a stop to former Bellator MMA standout Ricky Rainey via second-round knockout.

To much surprise, Rainey was able to land significant strikes in this fight. Rainey’s long frame and constant movement allowed him to score some good points in the early going, but the 34-year-old became hesitant in his offense in Round 2. Taking advantage of a stagnant opponent, Salikhov found a home for a brutal overhand right that instantly dropped “Sniper” to the canvas. Salikhov jumped on top for some brutal insurance shots before the referee jumped in for the knockout stoppage.

With this performance, “King of Kung Fu” finally captures the UFC finish he was looking for, having lost his debut to Alex Garcia via submission back in November. The world-class striker should be able to quickly climb the 170-pound ladder if he’s able to establish his range inside of the Octagon and let his skill take over. This was quite the finish for the Russian prospect.
