Before Dustin Poirier steps into the Octagon to face Justin Gaethje in the main event of UFC on FOX 29 this weekend (Sat., April 14, 2018) in Glendale, Arizona, let’s take a trip down memory lane to see one of “Diamond’s” most dominant wins.
Back in 2016, Dustin was in the midst of quite the win streak, and looked to collect his fourth straight victory against Bobby Green at UFC 199 in Los Angeles, California. And the action got started early, as Green and Poirier came out with intentions of an all-out striking war, with Poirier dropping Green a minute into the Lightweight bout.
Looking to stay in the game, “King” kept insisting Dustin bring the fight, and he did just that, dropping Green two minutes later and putting the finishing touches via ground-and-pound.
Now, Poirier will look to add to his his current win streak and cement himself as a top contender to khabib Nurmagomedov’s tile as he looks to hand Gaethje his second straight defeat in Arizona.
