Video: Khabib Nurmagomedov lands in Dagestan, receives hero’s welcome for UFC 223 title win

After a tumultuous couple of weeks, which saw Khabib Nurmagomedov land three different opponents before having his bus attacked by Conor McGregor and the goon squad, “The Eagle” topped his crazy ride off by capturing the undisputed Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Lightweight strap, taking out Al Iaquinta in the UFC 223 main event.

See it again here.

Upon his immediate return to Dagestan, Khabib received a hero’s welcome, which included plenty of rabid fans trying to get a piece of their hometown hero, as well as the local dance crew — and Khabib’s father — cutting up a rug in honor of “The Eagle.”

Lit!

With the victory, Khabib improved his undefeated record to 26-0, 10-0 inside the Octagon. As for what’s next for “The Eagle,” a showdown against “Notorious” seems to be the logical step, though it remains to be seen what becomes of Conor once he returns to New York this summer for a court hearing.

And since Ramadan is just around the corner, don’t expect to see Nurmagomedov make his first title defense until later this year. Which gives this man plenty of time to heal up.
