In what has to be the most ridiculous UFC news to ever have the misfortune of happening on April Fool’s Day, Tony Ferguson is off UFC 223 with a knee injury. UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway will move up in weight to replace him in what has become the most cursed fight in MMA history.

Nurmagomedov vs. Ferguson has been scheduled and scuttled four times now over the past three years. According to UFC president Dana White, it’s an LCL tear that is causing this latest last moment switch. The fight will still be for Conor McGregor’s UFC lightweight title.

Khabib Nurmagomedov took to Instagram shortly after the news was revealed to slam Ferguson, who had been particularly unforgiving regarding comments on Khabib’s pull out of UFC 209.

”Tony heal up man,” he wrote. “Just want to advise you, don’t talk too much anymore. Lot of thoughts in my head right now, but I don’t want to become like you. Hope, this lesson will teach you watch your mouth.”

Max Holloway had his own unique comments regarding his upcoming fight.
