Fabricio Werdum would ‘definitely’ become a WWE wrestler, but Derrick Lewis definitely would not

Hey, remember back in the old days when you could tell the difference between UFC and WWE?

Me neither.

Anyway, the two promotions have been swapping talent for quite some time now, and with Ronda Rousey chasing a professional wrestling career — and Brock Lesnar contemplating an Octagon comeback — the rest of the roster is trying to see what all the fuss is about.

Including former heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum.

“If I had the opportunity I’d fight there, no problem,” Werdum told MMA Fighting. “It’s financially great. Fight at WWE, a spectacle that is fun to do. I’d definitely do it. I have a meeting Thursday about it, doing both (UFC and WWE). I want to fight, doesn’t matter where.”

Though not everyone in his weight class shares his enthusiasm.

“Me, I couldn’t do [WWE] because I’d be laughing my ass off,” heavyweight contender Derrick Lewis told the Slip n’ Dip podcast. “I couldn’t keep a straight face pretending like I’m hurt, this and that. I couldn’t do it.”

Werdum returns to the cage a week from Saturday night (March 17, 2018) to throw hands with Russian bruiser Alexander Volkov (details). Lewis, meanwhile, is riding the pine while recovering from a hand injury.

Maybe Braun Strowman can fight in his place?
