Bellator 200 “Carvalho vs. Mousasi” comes to SSE Arena in London, England on May 25, 2018. The headlining fight will see Rafael Carvalho (15-1) defend the Middleweight title against former DREAM Middleweight and Strikeforce Light Heavyweight champion Gegard Mousasi (43-6-2).
Following his loss in a rematch with Matt Mitrione at Bellator 194, Roy Nelson (23-15) found himself a man without a “Country,” eliminated from the Bellator Heavyweight Grand Prix.
What would be next for the former UFC superstar and IFL Heavyweight champion?
The real question to ask is WHO would be next. Bellator MMA has informed us that it’s none other than kickboxing and MMA legend Mirko Cro Cop (36-11-2), who retired for the 47th time last year, only to come back and throw hands (and legs) under the RIZIN banner.
The 43-yea-old Croat is the winner of eight straight — all of them finishes — and likely got an offer he couldn’t refuse. Or, perhaps Bellator is planning longterm and hopes to book a rematch against Fedor Emelianenko somewhere down the road.
Time will tell.
