Undefeated heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder continued his reign atop boxing last night (Sat., Mar. 3, 2018) live on Showtime from inside Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, when pulled off a come-from-behind TKO victory over “King Kong” Luis Ortiz in the 10th round.
Wilder had only been out of the ninth round once in his career, which came in 2015 in a TKO victory over Johann Duhaupas, so his showdown with Ortiz last night in NYC proved to be a close contest throughout. That was until “Bronze Bomber” turned the heat up in Round 10 and found a home for a finish. Ortiz tried to regroup after an initial knockdown, but couldn’t stomach much more after that as Wilder captured the TKO finish.

With this performance, Wilder improves his undefeated record to 40-0 while locking down his seventh-straight stoppage. The WBC heavyweight champion is already looking at a unification bout opposite the winner of Anthony Joshua vs. Joseph Parker later this month.
